Your donation is considered as a collective sponsorship for all our students. This collective sponsorship is the formula adapted to respond to the needs of underprivileged population.

The facts:

In secondary and rural cities, the Government don’t have the funds to educate, that need’s: buildings, staff and materials. So private sector educating common people are doing it on a volunteer basis. These are facts.

Our NGO Abchaiti.org is charging $3.00 for inscription and $65.00 annually for educating a child. How can we pay the rent, buy educational material, pay some of uniforms, pay salaries of teachers and when we can give a hot meal to the kids once or twice a week.

Why Donate a certain amount of money instead of sending some materials?

Ouanamithe is a rural city with no electricity and have only dusty roads. As this city is a border with Dajabon, Dominican Republic, the European Community is helping with the construction of a new custom house, a border and a new paved road connection to Cap Haitian. As this will may take a few years we will not be able to receive any school material in Ouanamithe.

Also post office does not exist.

Our Canadian volunteer member Jocester Pierrot sent us from Montreal some French books and material by post office to the home of Christiane and Emile in Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. Imagine he had paid $75.00 for postal fees to send this box valued of $35.00 and we had to pay $15.00 for custom and duties to DR as they were new materials. We paid 3 times the value of these materials.

For this reason we ask our donors to send their donation by the secured Pay Pal that will be transferred automatically to our Bank account. With your donations we will buy our school materials in Santiago, Dominican Republic, where we can find English books and materials. As per the French material we will buy them in Montreal and friends will bring them along when vacationing in DR.
